I’m proud to share the story of our 1968 Beechcraft Bonanza V35A, still flying today behind its original Continental IO-520 engine. We’re only the second owners, the first bought it new in ’68 and flew it sparingly before storing it for over 25 years. When we purchased it in 2018, the airframe and engine had just 813 total hours and were completely original. As owners of a maintenance shop, we saw the potential and brought it back to life with careful inspections and some much-needed attention. Since then, we’ve flown it all over the country, adding hundreds of hours to the same engine and cylinders it left the factory with. It’s a true testament to the quality Continental built into these engines and why we’re proud to keep its legacy flying.
